I flew in the nite.. the flight departed at abt 12am, perth time (which is same as sg) and I arrived in Melb at abt 530am, melb time.. (which is 2 hrs ahead)... it's pretty nice to fly in the night..
I know I'm meant to be sleeping.. I was.. and den I woke up and saw the bright shining stars just outside the window.. nice nice.. oooh.. I almost forgot there was a lil. drama with my plane seat when I board the plane...
I took virginblue.. it's sort of a budget plane for me to get to the eastern states from perth... cheaper than qantas defn... and surprisingly.. this budget airline have a new system of web check-in.. and I get to print out my own boarding pass.. mmmz.. felt that it was quite dodge.. anyway, I got one of the front seats.. pretty good.. 6F.. window seat.. no complains.. I was one of the last few to board the plane.. and when I walked up to row 6...I saw that the whole row was occupied.. (including my allocated seat).. so I decided to ask.. "Sorry.. any of you guys happen to be seating in the wrong seat? I'm meant to be seating at 6F" Then the guy seating at 6F replied "Really? That's strange... I'm also supposed to be seating at 6F... - with a weird accent, and trying to get his boarding pass out"... And after looking at his boarding pass, he apologised for his mistake.. and got out of his seat.. *shrugs... this is the 1st time I actually encountered someone seating in the wrong seat.. haha.. good thing he didn't board the wrong plane.. (owells, I'd think the ground staff would have spotted his mistake.. and directed him to the right gate)... so I settled myself comfortably in my seat.. beside these 2 aged oz couples.. they seem quite gigglish.. and they literally burst out laughing.. when later someone close to our vicinity was seating in the wrong seat again.. I think they are pretty amused by how these "young" chaps could actually "sEE wrongly"...
I hope you guys have not fallen asleep reading my story thus far.. I know I ain't very good with words.. but it was pretty eventful to start the night off... for my melb escapade.. :P at least that's what I think
Yep.. I arrived in Melb at an unearthly hour..530am..my initial plan was to wait in the airport for 4 hrs.. till qianling arrive back from sg.. at 9+am.. then we'll share a cab to her place (where I'll be staying for the next 10 days) but weirdly.. my sis offered to come pick me up.. and said that she'll make 2 trips to the airport.. and pick qianling up later.. unfortunately.. she didn't.. coz she was so tired.. she only came to pick me up.... my sis and this other guy - rams came to pick me up.. and we went to shirleen aka shirlz' place (where my sis been staying for the past yr) to SLEEP.. haha.. yeah.. my sis and I squeezing on a single bed.. omigosh.. unbelievable.. but we did.. hahaha...den finally crawled out of bed at ard 12pm.. washed up.. and they dropped me at qianling's place in carlton.. and the 3 of them (my sis, rams and shirlz) went for footy match...
the 1st lunch I had in melbourne.. was the cheap shanghai noodles place.. in this lil. lane called tattersalls lane.. a dinghy and dodgey lane.. but it was pretty nice.. oh yeah.. and when I reached qianling's place.. besides qianling, this other guy came down as well (*mmmmz) and the guy was Nic.. hahaha.. (sounds strangely familiar.. kekeke.. soo desu ne.. Qianling's SP classmate.. 1 of the only 2 guys in her class.. tian, joanna, clarice - u get the hint**)
Sorry, so far no pics yet.. coz I'm not a photo freak tourist..
it's my 3rd time in melb lah for goodness sake :P
anyhow, after lunch, we walked ard the city.. they had to do some "marketing" also commonly known as grocery shopping.. and I just tagged along.. grabbing whatever that I think I'd need for the next few upcoming days...
it feels weird walking ard in Melb city.. I feel quite lost walking ard.. not knowing the directions.. yet it all looks so strangely familiar...
And one fact that I still can't digest is: how do melbourners esp. those staying in the city area.. go grocery shopping without a car... ? yeah, so peeps like qianling and her housemates.. and many others.. they actually buy like juices.. meats, vegs.. + whatnots.. and if they don't take the tram.. they actually take like a 15mins walk back home.. with the heavy stuff.. *scratch head.. beyond comprehension.. that's so TeDious~! *faints
I didn't actually walked back with them though.. my sis came back to pick me up.. and we went to glen waverly to have dinner with aunty emily, uncle chris and cheryl... it's like my sis's farewell dinner with them lah.. coz my sis flying back to perth for good on the following night..I finally took the 1st photo of the day.. :P here it is....
