been meaning to blog earlier to mark the beginning of the new year.. but was busy recuperating.. I kindaf had the worst present for the new year.. fell sick since 5th Jan.. had a viral infection - high fever for 3 days I think and cough until now.. well at least it kindaf subsided a bit.. so my fantastic plans of stopping work last fri was delayed till the wed that just passed, coz I was sick and didn't go in to work till last tues and wed..
owells at least 1 good news is my mum's final checkup and MRI scan shows that it's all pretty alright.. waiting for the actual report to be mailed to us now..
many things happened but I can hardly remember what I wanted to blog about.. but anyway, for the 1st time in my whole life.. I went for new year's count down at esplanade this yr.. to see fireworks.. pretty beautiful.. but it'd have been good if we camp outside esplanade for a good spot earlier in the evening rather than going through crowds at 10+, 11pm trying to find good spot.. and ended up back at the bridge.. photos are of coz with the semi-pro photographer bf - mark and his d700.. and I don't have them.. hence the lack of photos here..
trying to meet as many pple as I can before leaving.. but time constraints and my period of sickness forbids me to do so.. *sighz..but I still had to turn up for my pri sch class gathering.. which was heaps fun.. without fail.. each gathering we have.. there will be a surprise guest.. the first gathering we had in dec.. weihong was the surprise guest whom none of us has seen for 12 yrs!
and at the recent bbq at muxian's place.. we had jianlong.. whom we were out of contact for yah abt 12 yrs as well for majority of us lah...
I like class gatherings like these..just meeting up with "long lost friends".. catching up with one another's life and try to recall what happened in the past... haha... I reckon we've got the best attendance at this bbq gathering amongst the others we had for the past 5 yrs.. and looks like we are hooked on to meeting up with one another that they are gonna organise another 1 after CNY.. in Feb.. too bad I won't be around then.. :P
Can't wait to have some sec school class gathering.. apparently in 2010.. there's gonna be a 10 yrs anniversary gathering for scgs students that graduated in 2000.. can't wait for that.. should be fun meeting up with pple that you haven't seen for a while and catching up..
Other than that.. most of the time I'm either at work/resting at home/spending time with mark.. not a very interesting life I lead.. haha..
went for my 1st and last cell for this yr with the s'pore fcc peeps at swee's place on wed nite.. we were supposed to share 1 spiritual goal we aim to achieve for 2009.. for me I really want to grow in the fruits of the Spirit..
Gal 5:22-23 "the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control."
I had been having much anger management issues which falls in to the category of acts of sinful nature..
Gal 5:19-21 "The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like."
which actually totally disgust me.. so I'm technically upset/mad at myself.. for being so bad-tempered..jealous.. fits of rage.. envy sometimes.. previously I was getting better.. but in 2008 it got really bad.. and so many times I just went into mild depression.. it may not appear so to many other pple.. maybe I've put on a good front.. but deep down.. I know all these sinful nature is eating me up.. and I really pray and hope to see myself growing more Christ-like this year..
Nobody said it's gonna be easy.. neither does penning it down helps me to become like what I wish for.. but at least maybe readers of my blog can hold me accountable to my spiritual resolution for yr 2009. okie.. that's all for now... Happy new year folks..
